Nutella Stuffed Beignets
These delicious beignets are filled with creamy Nutella and dusted with powdered sugar.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Powdered sugar - For dusting
- Vegetable oil - 2 cups (for frying)
- Nutella - 1/2 cup
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Egg - 1
- Milk - 3/4 cup
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 2 teaspoons
- Granulated sugar - 2 tablespoons
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth.
- Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
- Using a round cookie cutter or a glass, cut out circles of dough.
- Place a teaspoon of Nutella in the center of each dough circle.
- Fold the dough over the Nutella and pinch the edges to seal.
- In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully drop the stuffed beignets into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the beignets from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Dust the beignets with powdered sugar before serving.
