Nutella Stuffed Beignets

Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for a few minutes until smooth.
  5. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch.
  6. Using a round cookie cutter or a glass, cut out circles of dough.
  7. Place a teaspoon of Nutella in the center of each dough circle.
  8. Fold the dough over the Nutella and pinch the edges to seal.
  9. In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Carefully drop the stuffed beignets into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  11. Remove the beignets from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  12. Dust the beignets with powdered sugar before serving.
