Nem Ran
Nem Ran, also known as Vietnamese Fried Spring Rolls, is a popular appetizer in Vietnamese cuisine. It's a crispy, savory roll filled with a mixture of ground pork, shrimp, and various vegetables.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Spring roll wrappers - 20
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Glass noodles - 50 grams, soaked and finely chopped
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1 medium, finely shredded
- Shrimp - 100 grams, peeled and finely chopped
- Ground pork - 200 grams
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, carrot, onion, and glass noodles. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the beaten egg to the mixture and mix well to combine.
- Place a spoonful of the mixture onto each spring roll wrapper and roll tightly, sealing the edges with a little water.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the spring rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauce.
