Ingredients - Serves 12

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, shredded coconut, melted butter, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, custard powder, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  4. Spread the custard mixture evenly over the chocolatey base.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate and 2 tablespoons of butter in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate over the custard layer and spread it out evenly.
  7. Refrigerate the Nanaimo bars for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  8. Once set, cut into squares and serve.
