Mushroom and Spinach Gratin
This creamy and flavorful mushroom and spinach gratin is the perfect side dish for any meal.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Milk - 1 cup
- All-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Spinach - 8 cups, chopped
- Mushrooms - 1 lb, sliced
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the mushrooms and garlic, and cook until the mushrooms are tender and golden, about 5 minutes.
- Add the spinach and cook until wilted, about 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom and spinach mixture, and stir to coat.
- Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
