Multi Grain Bread with Seeds

Ingredients - Serves 12
- Mixed seeds (sunflower, flax, sesame) - 1/2 cup
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Multi-grain cereal mix - 1/2 cup
- Bread flour - 1 1/2 cups
- Whole wheat flour - 2 cups
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Active dry yeast - 1 packet
- Warm water - 1 1/2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
- Add the whole wheat flour, bread flour, multi-grain cereal mix, milk, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and knead in the mixed seeds.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for another hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Bake the bread for 35-40 minutes, until the top is golden and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and let cool completely on a wire rack.
