Mozzarella Sticks
These crispy mozzarella sticks are perfect as a snack or appetizer. They are made with breaded mozzarella cheese and served with marinara sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Marinara sauce - 1 cup
- Vegetable oil - 2 cups
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Flour - 1/2 cup
- Breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Egg - 1
- Mozzarella cheese - 8 sticks
Let's Get Started
- Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks.
- In a shallow bowl, beat the egg.
- In another shallow bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, flour, Italian seasoning, and salt.
- Dip each mozzarella stick into the beaten egg, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the mozzarella sticks from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve the mozzarella sticks hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
