Moo Yang
Moo Yang is a popular Thai street food dish made with marinated grilled pork.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lime wedges - For serving
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Cilantro roots - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Pork shoulder - 1 pound, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, chopped cilantro roots, fish sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well to make the marinade.
- Add the thinly sliced pork shoulder to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for better flavor.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated pork slices onto skewers.
- Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the pork skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Remove the pork skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the Moo Yang with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the pork.
