Mission Style Burrito
A hearty and delicious burrito packed with rice, beans, cheese, and your choice of meat. Originating from San Francisco's Mission District, this burrito is a meal in itself.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Chopped tomatoes - 1 cup
- Chopped lettuce - 1 cup
- Sour cream - 1/2 cup
- Guacamole - 1 cup
- Salsa - 1 cup
- Cooked meat (chicken, beef, or pork) - 2 cups
- Grated cheddar cheese - 1 cup
- Black beans - 1 can, drained and rinsed
- Cooked rice - 2 cups
- Large flour tortillas - 4
Let's Get Started
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat until they are soft and pliable.
- Spread a scoop of rice in the center of each tortilla.
- Top the rice with a scoop of beans, a handful of cheese, and a portion of the cooked meat.
- Add a spoonful of salsa, guacamole, and sour cream to each burrito.
- Top with lettuce and tomatoes.
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly, tucking in the ends as you go.
- Serve the burritos warm, with extra salsa and sour cream on the side.
