Mi Char
Mi Char is a delicious Chinese stir-fried noodle dish with a savory sauce and a variety of vegetables and proteins.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Chicken breast - 8 ounces, thinly sliced
- Bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
- Cabbage - 2 cups, shredded
- Carrots - 2 medium, julienned
- Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mi char noodles - 8 ounces
Let's Get Started
- Cook the Mi Char noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sliced onion. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the julienned carrots, shredded cabbage, and sliced bell pepper. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the wok and add the thinly sliced chicken breast to the other side. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and vegetables. Stir to combine.
- Add the cooked Mi Char noodles to the wok and toss everything together until well coated in the sauce.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the noodles are heated through.
- Serve the Mi Char hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
