Meatball and Pepperoni Sandwich
This delicious sandwich is made with homemade meatballs, pepperoni, marinara sauce, and melted cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Fresh basil - A few leaves
- Parmesan cheese - 2 tablespoons, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 cup, shredded
- Marinara sauce - 1/2 cup
- Pepperoni slices - 12
- Sub rolls - 2
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Egg - 1
- Breadcrumbs - 1/4 cup
- Ground beef - 1/2 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Slice the sub rolls in half lengthwise.
- Spread marinara sauce on both sides of the rolls.
- Layer the pepperoni slices on one side of the rolls.
- Place the cooked meatballs on top of the pepperoni.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the meatballs.
- Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
