Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions, carrots, celery, and garlic and cook until the vegetables are soft, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef and pork and cook until browned.
  4. Add the red wine and cook until it has reduced by half.
  5. Stir in the tomato paste, canned tomatoes, salt, pepper, bay leaves, and half of the chopped basil.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  7. Before serving, remove the bay leaves and stir in the remaining chopped basil.
  8. Serve the ragu over cooked pasta and garnish with grated Parmesan cheese.
