Maple Glazed Pork Belly
This succulent pork belly recipe is sweetened with a maple glaze. It's a perfect main course for a special occasion.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Maple syrup - 1/2 cup
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Pork belly - 1 kg
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
- Season the pork belly with salt and pepper.
- Place the pork belly in a roasting pan and roast for 2 hours.
- While the pork is roasting, prepare the glaze by combining the maple syrup, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until reduced by half.
- After 2 hours, remove the pork from the oven and increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C).
- Brush the pork with the maple glaze and return to the oven. Roast for another 30 minutes, or until the pork is crispy and caramelized.
- Let the pork rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra glaze on the side.
