Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour a madeleine pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and granulated sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Add the melted butter, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared madeleine pan, filling each mold about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers spring back when lightly touched.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the madeleines cool in the pan for a few minutes.
  8. Gently remove the madeleines from the pan and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
