Lomito al Jugo
Lomito al Jugo is a traditional Chilean dish made with tender beef loin cooked in a flavorful gravy.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Bread rolls - 4
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Red wine - 1 cup
- Beef broth - 2 cups
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onions - 2, thinly sliced
- Beef loin - 1 kg
Let's Get Started
- Season the beef loin with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and sear on all sides until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the onions and garlic and cook until softened.
- Add the beef broth, red wine, and Worcestershire sauce to the pan. Bring to a boil.
- Return the beef to the pan, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 1 hour, or until the beef is tender.
- Slice the beef and serve on bread rolls, topped with the onion and gravy mixture.
