Lok Lak
Lok Lak is a popular Cambodian dish made with marinated beef, served with a tangy lime dipping sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh cilantro - For garnish
- Red onion - 1, thinly sliced
- Cucumber - 1, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Lettuce leaves - For serving
- Salt - To taste
- Water - 2 tablespoons
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Beef sirloin - 500g, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from heat.
- In a small bowl, mix together the lime juice, water, and salt to make the dipping sauce.
- Serve the cooked beef on a bed of lettuce leaves, and garnish with sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, and fresh cilantro.
- Serve the Lok Lak with the tangy lime dipping sauce on the side.
