Chilled Chicken in Spicy Sauce
This is a refreshing and spicy dish perfect for a hot summer day. The chicken is cooked until tender, then chilled and served with a spicy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Chicken breasts - 4, boneless and skinless
Let's Get Started
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden and no longer pink in the center, about 7 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and let cool.
- In the same skillet, add the garlic and red chili flakes. Cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the soy sauce, honey, and lime juice. Stir until well combined and heated through.
- Slice the cooled chicken and arrange on a plate. Drizzle with the spicy sauce and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
