  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
  3. Add the milk, butter, sour cream, salt, and pepper to the pot. Mash until smooth.
  4. Fold in half of the bacon, half of the cheese, and the green onions.
  5. Spread the potato mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with the remaining bacon and cheese.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
