Let's Get Started

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the Italian sausage and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  5. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red pepper flakes, and basil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta with the sauce.
  7. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
