Linguine with Brown Butter and Sage
This simple yet flavorful pasta dish combines the nuttiness of brown butter with the earthy, aromatic flavor of sage. It's a perfect comfort food that can be whipped up in no time.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Parmesan cheese - 1 cup, grated
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh sage leaves - 20
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup
- Linguine - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Cook the linguine in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sage leaves and cook until the butter starts to brown and the sage leaves are crispy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat in the brown butter. If the pasta seems dry, add some of the reserved pasta water.
- Season with salt and pepper, then sprinkle with the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Serve immediately, garnishing with additional Parmesan cheese and sage leaves if desired.
