Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the pork liver under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the pork liver to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  4. Transfer the liver and onions to a food processor. Add the allspice, ground ginger, ground cloves, salt, and black pepper. Process until smooth.
  5. Add the heavy cream to the liver mixture and process again until well combined.
  6. Transfer the liver paste to a serving dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve the leverpastej on sliced bread with pickles on the side.
