Ingredients - Serves 8

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, sausage, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with eggs, Parmesan, half of the mozzarella, basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce. Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a third of mozzarella cheese slices. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes. Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving.
