Lamb Curry
This aromatic and flavorful lamb curry is made with tender lamb, spices, and a rich tomato-based sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Fresh cilantro - For garnish
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
- Curry powder - 2 tablespoons
- Yogurt - 1/2 cup
- Tomatoes - 4 medium, chopped
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Onions - 2 large, finely chopped
- Lamb - 1.5 kg, cut into cubes
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onions, garlic, and ginger. Cook until the onions are soft and golden, about 5 minutes.
- Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, yogurt, curry powder, turmeric, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Cover the pot and simmer for 1 hour, or until the lamb is tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
- Serve the lamb curry hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
