Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour and brown sugar.
  2. Add lye water and water to the mixture. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Add annatto water to give the kutsinta its signature orange color. Mix well.
  4. Prepare a steamer and grease the molds with oil.
  5. Pour the kutsinta mixture into the molds, filling them about 3/4 full.
  6. Steam the kutsinta for about 20-25 minutes or until set and firm.
  7. Remove the molds from the steamer and let the kutsinta cool for a few minutes.
  8. Once cooled, remove the kutsinta from the molds and serve with grated coconut on top.
