Let's Get Started

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, brown sugar, water, and lye water. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Grease the molds or cupcake liners with oil or cooking spray.
  3. Pour the batter into the molds, filling each about 3/4 full.
  4. Prepare a steamer and bring the water to a boil.
  5. Place the molds in the steamer and steam for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the steamer and let cool for a few minutes.
  7. Once cooled, remove the cuchinta from the molds and roll them in grated coconut.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
