Kulcha
Kulcha is a type of mildly leavened flatbread that originated in the Indian subcontinent. It is a popular dish in India and Pakistan, and is also found in other parts of South Asia.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Yogurt - 1/2 cup
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yogurt and milk, and mix until a dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 2 hours.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and roll each part into a ball.
- Flatten each ball with a rolling pin into a circle about 6 inches in diameter.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook each kulcha for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Brush each kulcha with butter and serve hot.
