Ingredients - Serves 8

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking dish with one sheet of puff pastry.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, egg yolks, and flour until well combined.
  5. Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  6. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and comes to a boil.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  8. Pour the custard over the puff pastry in the baking dish.
  9. Cover the custard with the second sheet of puff pastry, pressing down gently to seal the edges.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
  13. Slice into squares and enjoy!
