Kransekage
Kransekage is a traditional Danish cake made from almond flour and shaped into rings. It is often served at special occasions and celebrations.
Ingredients - Serves 12
- Confectioners' sugar (for dusting) - As needed
- Almond extract - 1 teaspoon
- Egg whites - 4
- Powdered sugar - 500g
- Almond flour - 500g
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the almond flour and powdered sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the almond flour mixture.
- Add the almond extract and mix until well combined.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle.
- Pipe the dough into rings of decreasing size onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the rings are golden brown.
- Allow the kransekage to cool completely before removing from the baking sheet.
- Dust with confectioners' sugar before serving.
