Korean Fried Chicken Wings
These crispy and flavorful Korean fried chicken wings are coated in a sweet and spicy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2, thinly sliced (for garnish)
- Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Toasted sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Gochujang (korean chili paste) - 1/4 cup
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour - 1/2 cup
- Cornstarch - 1/2 cup
- Chicken wings - 2 pounds
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the cornstarch, flour, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dredge the chicken wings in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the chicken wings in batches for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and toasted sesame oil to make the sauce.
- Toss the fried chicken wings in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
