Korean Egg Toast
Korean egg toast is a popular street food in Korea. It consists of a fluffy omelette filled with vegetables and served on toasted bread.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Bread slices - 4
- Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ketchup - 2 tablespoons
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Ham - 1/4 cup, diced
- Bell pepper - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
- Onion - 1/4 cup, finely chopped
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Milk - 2 tablespoons
- Eggs - 4
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and diced ham to the pan. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
- Pour the egg mixture into the pan and cook until the edges start to set.
- Using a spatula, gently fold the edges of the omelette towards the center to create a square shape.
- Continue cooking until the omelette is fully set and lightly browned on both sides.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and sugar to make the sauce.
- Toast the bread slices until golden brown.
- Spread the sauce on one side of each bread slice.
- Place the omelette on one slice of bread and cover with another slice to make a sandwich.
- Cut the sandwich diagonally and serve hot.
