Let's Get Started

  1. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 1 hour. Drain the rice.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, yellow split peas, chopped onion, fresh herbs, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Take a small portion of the meat mixture and shape it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  4. In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
  5. Add the drained rice and water to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
  6. Cook for 40-45 minutes, or until the rice and meatballs are cooked through and tender.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
