Kjøttkaker Med Ertestuing
Kjøttkaker med Ertestuing is a traditional Norwegian dish. It consists of meatballs served with pea stew.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Chicken broth - 2 cups
- Flour - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Frozen peas - 2 cups
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Egg - 1
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Ground beef - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the flour and stir until smooth. Gradually add the chicken broth, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Add the frozen peas to the skillet and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet and stir to coat with the pea stew. Cook for a few more minutes until heated through.
- Serve the Kjøttkaker med Ertestuing hot.
