Khatanii Huurga
Khatanii Huurga is a traditional Mongolian dish made with lamb, vegetables, and noodles.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Green onions - 4, chopped
- Noodles - 200 grams
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Cabbage - 1/2 head, shredded
- Potatoes - 3, diced
- Carrots - 2, sliced
- Onion - 1 large, chopped
- Lamb - 1 kg, diced
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat.
- Add the lamb and cook until browned on all sides.
- Add the chopped onion, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add enough water to cover the ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the lamb is tender.
- Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Once the lamb is tender, season with soy sauce, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked noodles to the pot and stir to combine.
- Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
