Let's Get Started

  1. Soak the sticky rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the soaked rice and steam it for about 20-25 minutes, or until cooked and sticky.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the coconut milk, sugar, and salt over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Pour half of the coconut sauce over the cooked sticky rice and mix well. Let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. In a serving plate, arrange the sliced mangoes.
  6. Place a portion of the sticky rice next to the mangoes.
  7. Drizzle some more coconut sauce over the sticky rice.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds and coconut flakes on top for garnish.
  9. Serve the Khao Niew Mamuang warm or at room temperature.
