Khailmag Guril
Khailmag Guril is a traditional Mongolian dish made with grilled lamb and vegetables.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Mushrooms - 8 ounces, sliced
- Zucchini - 1, sliced
- Bell peppers - 2, sliced
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Lamb shoulder - 1.5 pounds, boneless, cut into thin slices
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Add the sliced lamb to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated lamb slices onto skewers, alternating with the sliced vegetables.
- Grill the skewers for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness and the vegetables are tender.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
