  1. In a mixing bowl, combine rye flour, water, and salt. Knead the dough until smooth.
  2. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each portion into a thin round crust.
  3. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add rice. Cook until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  4. Add milk and salt to the cooked rice and continue cooking until the mixture thickens.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Place the rye crusts on a baking sheet and spread a generous amount of rice porridge on each crust.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crusts are golden brown.
  8. Serve the Karjalanpiirakka warm with a dollop of egg butter on top.
