Jiaozi
Jiaozi is a traditional Chinese dumpling that is typically filled with ground pork and vegetables. These dumplings are boiled or pan-fried and served with a dipping sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Wonton wrappers - 1 package
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Green onions - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Napa cabbage - 1 cup, finely chopped
- Ground pork - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, Napa cabbage, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wrapper.
- Fold the wrapper in half and pinch the edges together to seal.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Add the dumplings and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
- Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve with a dipping sauce.
