Inkokt Lax
Inkokt lax is a traditional Swedish dish of poached salmon, flavored with dill and served with a mustard sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Mustard sauce - For serving
- Black peppercorns - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon - 1, sliced
- Fresh dill - 1/4 cup, chopped
- White wine vinegar - 1/4 cup
- Water - 4 cups
- Salmon fillets - 4, skin-on
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, combine the water, white wine vinegar, dill, lemon slices, salt, and black peppercorns. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low and carefully add the salmon fillets, skin-side down. Cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Using a slotted spatula, carefully remove the salmon fillets from the pot and transfer to a serving dish.
- Serve the inkokt lax hot or chilled, with mustard sauce on the side.
