Indian Samosas
Delicious and crispy Indian samosas filled with spiced potatoes and peas.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Water - 1/2 cup
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Peas - 1/2 cup, boiled
- Potatoes - 3 medium, boiled and mashed
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onion, green chili, and grated ginger. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.
- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
- Add mashed potatoes and boiled peas. Mix everything together and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
- In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, salt, and water to make a smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle.
- Cut the circle in half and form a cone shape by sealing the straight edge with water.
- Fill the cone with the potato and pea filling and seal the open edge with water.
- Repeat the process for all the dough balls.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
