Indian Saag Paneer
Saag Paneer is a classic Indian dish made with spinach and paneer cheese cooked in a flavorful blend of spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh cream - 2 tablespoons
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Green chili - 1, chopped
- Tomato - 1, chopped
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Paneer cheese - 200 grams, cubed
- Spinach - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Blanch the spinach in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and transfer to a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onion turns golden brown.
- Add chopped tomato and green chili. Cook until the tomato softens.
- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
- Add the blended spinach and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the paneer cubes and salt. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Stir in fresh cream and cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with naan or rice.
