Palak Paneer
Palak Paneer is a popular Indian dish made with spinach and paneer (Indian cottage cheese). It is a flavorful and nutritious vegetarian dish.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh cream - 2 tablespoons
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Tomato - 2 medium, finely chopped
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Paneer - 200 grams, cubed
- Spinach - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Blanch the spinach in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and transfer to a bowl of ice water to retain the green color. Drain again and blend into a smooth puree.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili. Sauté for a minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the spinach puree and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add cubed paneer and garam masala. Mix gently and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Finally, add fresh cream and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with naan or rice.
