Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes, or until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, yogurt, and vegetable oil.
  3. Mix the ingredients together until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  6. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle or oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Place the naan on the hot skillet and cook for about 1 minute, or until bubbles start to form on the surface. Flip the naan and cook for another minute on the other side.
  8. Remove the naan from the skillet and brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with minced garlic and chopped cilantro.
  9. Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions.
  10. Serve the naan warm and enjoy!
