  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the rice flour mixture and knead it into a soft dough.
  3. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into cylindrical logs.
  4. Grease the idiyappam maker or a steamer basket with oil.
  5. Place one portion of the dough into the idiyappam maker and press it to form thin noodles onto a greased plate or steamer basket.
  6. Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions.
  7. Steam the idiyappam for about 10-12 minutes or until they are cooked and firm.
  8. Serve the idiyappam hot with coconut milk or curry of your choice.
