Idiyappam
Idiyappam, also known as string hoppers, is a popular South Indian dish made from rice flour. It is typically served with coconut milk or curry.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 1 1/2 cups
- Rice flour - 2 cups

- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour and salt.
- Gradually add water to the rice flour mixture and knead it into a soft dough.
- Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into cylindrical logs.
- Grease the idiyappam maker or a steamer basket with oil.
- Place one portion of the dough into the idiyappam maker and press it to form thin noodles onto a greased plate or steamer basket.
- Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions.
- Steam the idiyappam for about 10-12 minutes or until they are cooked and firm.
- Serve the idiyappam hot with coconut milk or curry of your choice.
