Hoormog
Hoormog is a traditional Mongolian dish made with meat, vegetables, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Green onions - 4, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Bell peppers - 2, sliced
- Potatoes - 2, diced
- Carrots - 2, julienned
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Lamb or beef - 1 kg, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over high heat.
- Add the sliced meat and cook until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the onion, carrots, potatoes, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry for 5 minutes.
- Return the cooked meat to the pan and mix well with the vegetables.
- Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Cover the pan and cook for 30 minutes, or until the meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
