High Protein Vegan Burger
This high-protein vegan burger is packed with plant-based protein from black beans and quinoa. It's flavorful, filling, and a great meatless option for BBQs and cookouts.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lettuce, tomato, and other desired burger toppings - As needed
- Whole wheat burger buns - 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Red onion - 1/2, finely chopped
- Cooked quinoa - 1 cup
- Black beans - 1 can, drained and rinsed
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
- Add the cooked quinoa, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 patties.
- Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, until heated through and slightly crispy on the outside.
- Serve the burgers on the whole wheat buns with lettuce, tomato, and your other favorite burger toppings.
