  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the Harpoon IPA until the batter is smooth.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large, deep saucepan to 375°F.
  3. Dip the fish fillets into the batter, one at a time, and then carefully lower them into the hot oil.
  4. Fry the fish for about 5 minutes, or until the batter is golden brown and crispy. Remove the fish from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  5. Fry the chips in the same oil until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve the fish and chips hot, with tartar sauce on the side.
