Harpoon IPA Battered Fish and Chips

Ingredients - Serves 4
- Tartar sauce - For serving
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Potatoes - 4 large, cut into chips
- White fish fillets - 4 (6 ounce)
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- All-purpose flour - 1 1/2 cups
- Harpoon ipa - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the Harpoon IPA until the batter is smooth.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large, deep saucepan to 375°F.
- Dip the fish fillets into the batter, one at a time, and then carefully lower them into the hot oil.
- Fry the fish for about 5 minutes, or until the batter is golden brown and crispy. Remove the fish from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Fry the chips in the same oil until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve the fish and chips hot, with tartar sauce on the side.
