Haemul Sundubu Jjigae
Haemul Sundubu Jjigae is a spicy Korean stew made with soft tofu and a variety of seafood.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Water - 3 cups
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Gochujang (korean red pepper paste) - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, sliced
- Assorted seafood (shrimp, squid, clams, mussels) - 1 cup
- Soft tofu - 1 package (14 ounces)
Let's Get Started
- Heat sesame oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add sliced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add assorted seafood and cook until they start to turn opaque.
- Add gochujang, soy sauce, fish sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Carefully add the soft tofu to the pot, breaking it into chunks.
- Simmer for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Garnish with chopped green onions.
- Serve hot with steamed rice.
