Haemul Pajeon
Haemul Pajeon is a delicious Korean seafood pancake made with a variety of seafood and green onions.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Red chili pepper - 1, thinly sliced (optional)
- Green onions - 4, chopped
- Assorted seafood (shrimp, squid, mussels) - 1 cup, chopped
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Eggs - 2
- Cold water - 1 cup
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cold water, eggs, and salt until smooth.
- Add the soy sauce and sesame oil to the batter and mix well.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped seafood, green onions, and red chili pepper (if using) to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until cooked.
- Pour the batter over the seafood and vegetables in the skillet, spreading it evenly.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
- Flip the pancake using a spatula and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the other side is golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer the haemul pajeon to a serving plate and cut into wedges.
- Serve hot with a dipping sauce made of soy sauce and vinegar.
