Guriltai Shul
Guriltai Shul is a traditional Mongolian noodle soup made with beef, vegetables, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Fresh cilantro - For garnish
- Water - 6 cups
- Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Noodles - 200 grams
- Cabbage - 1/2 small head, shredded
- Potatoes - 2 medium, diced
- Carrots - 2 medium, sliced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 large, chopped
- Beef - 500 grams, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic and cook until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add the carrots, potatoes, cabbage, salt, black pepper, cumin, and paprika. Stir well to combine.
- Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
- Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- To serve, place a portion of cooked noodles in each bowl and ladle the soup over the noodles.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
