Grilled Salami and Onion Ciabatta

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
  2. Slice the ciabatta bread in half lengthwise.
  3. Brush the olive oil on the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Place the bread on the grill, cut side down, and grill for about 5 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
  5. In a skillet, cook the salami and onion over medium heat until the onion is caramelized and the salami is crispy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Place the salami and onion mixture on the bottom half of the bread.
  8. Top with the mozzarella cheese slices.
  9. Place the top half of the bread on the sandwich and press down gently.
  10. Return the sandwich to the grill and cook for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  11. Remove from the grill, cut into individual servings, and serve immediately.
