Grilled Salami and Onion Ciabatta
A delicious and easy-to-make sandwich with grilled salami and onions served on a warm ciabatta bread.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Mozzarella cheese - 200 grams, sliced
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Salami - 200 grams, thinly sliced
- Ciabatta bread - 1 loaf
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Slice the ciabatta bread in half lengthwise.
- Brush the olive oil on the cut sides of the bread.
- Place the bread on the grill, cut side down, and grill for about 5 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
- In a skillet, cook the salami and onion over medium heat until the onion is caramelized and the salami is crispy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the salami and onion mixture on the bottom half of the bread.
- Top with the mozzarella cheese slices.
- Place the top half of the bread on the sandwich and press down gently.
- Return the sandwich to the grill and cook for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the grill, cut into individual servings, and serve immediately.
