Greek Gyros with Tzatziki

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken thighs and lamb slices, and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken and lamb for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  3. Remove the meat from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken and lamb into thin strips.
  4. To make the tzatziki sauce, combine the Greek yogurt, grated and squeezed cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped fresh dill, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
  5. Warm the pita bread rounds on the grill or in a pan.
  6. Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on each pita bread round.
  7. Top with sliced chicken and lamb, tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, and fresh parsley.
  8. Fold the pita bread in half and serve immediately.
